excursions

In the neighboring village of Hüttingen there is the Stove and Iron Museum, which brings to life the life of our great-grandparents’ generation in rural areas. In the season you can enjoy coffee and fresh waffles there from Wednesday to Sunday, 2:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. (As of summer 2024: closed due to bad weather)

Vianden ist ein kleiner, charmanter Ort direkt an der Grenze in Luxemburg (ca. 5 Minuten mit dem Auto). Die  The castle, which majestically overlooks the village, can be reached either on foot or by chairlift, which runs directly over the Our.

About 25 minutes away from us you will find the swimming and adventure pool Aqua Nat’Our  in Hosingen (L), which offers both a bathing world and a quiet sauna area.

In Diekirch (L) you will find a  museum about the military history  during the Battle of the Bulge (1944-1945).

The Bitburger Brewery offers tours followed by tastings of its own products.

The Region with Children

Here is a blog recommendation for the Müllerthal with children.

The Sauer, the border river between Germany and Luxembourg, is only 5 minutes by car from the farm and is not only ideal for swimming, but can also be explored from Wallendorf by kayak or canoe.

In the Devil’s Gorge in Ferschweiler you can not only see the new Irrel Waterfalls suspension bridge, but also hike to the Dino Park and go on a journey through time or learn more about local plants and animals in the wild herb workshop.

You can go boating, walking and hiking on the Bitburg reservoir. If you get a little hungry or thirsty in between, there is also something for you. Meanwhile, the youngest can let off steam at the water playground – a great attraction in summer.

In Rosport (L) you will find the child-friendly, interactive Tudor Museum, where you can learn more about electricity and accumulators.

A very special Eifel excursion destination: On an area of around 100 football fields, the Eifelpark Gondorf offers a unique combination of amusement park, zoo, game reserve and falconry.

The Eifel Zoo is just 30 minutes away from us. Cozy, quiet, natural. We can recommend it.
The children’s museum in Wiltz is worth a visit.
